Hello, my little spring chickadees. It's been an eventful week. First of all, hello, record breaking hot temperatures, which coincide with all y'all's record breaking cold temperatures this winter to confirm THE OZONE LAYER IS GONE.

That being said, all goes well. Smoke if you got 'em. P-funk preferably.

I have my born again orchestra concert Sunday afternoon during which we'll perform Mahler's 4th Symphony and I'll try not to cry. At rehearsals it's easy not to get swept away because we stop every two measures, but to play it through is another animal entirely.

I get my university's alumni magazine every month and I eventually got around to reading it a few weeks after the fact. I discovered an "alumni note" from a girl who had been a good friend of mine through college, particularly while studying in London for a semester. She announced she had published her first book, which is available on Amazon.

So I ordered it, read it and was duly impressed. Not Nobel Prize material, but better than anything I could ever do and, more importantly, I've aspired to do or have done. Now I'm all full of wishy washy revelry, love and inspiration.

In other news, the doggie is getting worse. He has stopped lifting his leg to pee and started wandering into the street during walks. He's generally thirsty and completely out of it.

Meanwhile, in my cat coven, we've fully adopted the long haired vagabond, aka Isabelle aka Izzie. She and Claymation have a vet appointment next weekend. God help me. She has made herself at home as if to say, What, I've been here for years, see, that's my favorite place to sleep, that's my favorite toy, and I like to sit here so you should sit somewhere else.

Good kittens know the ropes. But good lord, I'm a litter box scooping machine.
