There was a minute there when things looked okay. People stopped acting as out of control as they are and realized the CA recall election is costing us a bazillion dollars. Or maybe they realized the election was a cheap ploy by republicans who didn't like the outcome of a fair and democratic election. Or maybe they realized that a Hollywood star who refuses to participate in any unscripted debates or take a stand on any issues that matter shouldn't be running our state. I don't know, but the polls looked good, and I thought, maybe, just maybe, people are smarter than I gave them credit for.

I was wrong.

In other polictical news, can you believe it's almost time for another presidential election? Hell, by this time, I thought the whole country would've been reduced to ash. I'd love to put a "Don't blame me, I voted with the majority" sticker on the car, but I'd probably get shot by someone who likes to fire off a few rounds while waitin' for ma to finish the stitching on the new red, white and blue jumper.

Seriously, it's been a couple months since Mister Dubya arrived on the USS Lincoln, simultaneously searing millions of eyes with his man-bulge, but long before that Day of Darkness, the shit was hitting the fan. He had made major headway in a host of arenas including the war against reproductive rights, obliteration of the environment, taxbreaks for people like himself (hey, Bill Gates made $50 million off of it! Congrats Bill!) and creating the worst economy since the depression.

This is what seems to be happening in my ignorant opinion.

1) Bush uses family and coporate connections to raise an assload of money
2) He "wins" the election with aforementioned money
3) He divides his time in the White House into
��a) fufilling promises made to receive aforemeetioned money e.g. tax and environmental cuts for oil tycoons
��b) campaigning for the next election

Did he do ANYTHING else in office?

I'm sorry folks, I can't help myself today. This recall election has me in a mad tizzy.
